| Biography: |
One of Idaho's best all-around defensive athletes, Mike led the Vandals in tackling (104, 5th in the SBC), while recording 6 tackles for loss, 2 sacks, 1 interception, 2 pass breakups, and force 3 fumbles. Most of his damage was done at linebacker (floating between MLB and SLB), but for the last 3 games Mike lined up at DE to shore up opponent's running attacks.
2002
As a redshirt freshman in 2002 Mike was one of the primary backup linebackers, listed behind current San Diego Charger Jordan Kramer on the depth chart. As Kramer's backup, Mike ended the year the #3 tackler on the team, played in all 12 games and started 3, recorded 2 quarterback sacks, an interception and 3 pass breakups.
2001
Mike was an invited walk-on in 2001, in a class that included defensive leader Brandon Kania, and up-and-comers Mike Bonelli and Nate Nichols. Like Bonelli and Nichols, Mike redshirted the 2001 season.
