Attended the same high school as former Husky standout defensive tackle, Larry Tripplett...originally signed with Oregon out of high school in 2000 but failed to gain admittance and signed with Washington in 2001.
High School: First-team all-Western League and all-city defensive back as a senior in 1999...starred on defense, offense and special teams, leading the Comets to a 10-2 record and a quarterfinal berth in the state playoffs in 1999...posted 40 tackles and four interceptions in 10 games...rushed for 1,078 yards and 11 TDs on 65 carries his senior year...also utilized as a kick returner...missed two games with finger injury...ranked among the top 15 defensive backs in Southern California by SuperPrep and was a "Western 100" honoree by the Tacoma News Tribune.
College: Was forced to sit out spring practices while recovering from shoulder surgery...appeared in all 11 games as a reserve to senior Omare Lowe...credited with
eight tackles and two pass defenses in his freshman season...a key coverage player on special teams... 2002: Appeared in all 13 games ... had 10 tackles and a pick, against Heisman Trophy winner Carson Palmer. |
