Three-year letterman and fifth-year squad member who has appeared in 71 games during his career, including 17 starts ... Should be cleared to play in October after missing 19 months with a knee injury ... Suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his left knee against USC (March 8) during the second-to-last game of the 2001 season ... Underwent surgery in April of 2001 and was expected to return for the 2001-02 season after a summer of rehabilitation ... Re-injured his left knee in mid-September requiring additional surgery ... Underwent a second surgery to his left knee on Oct. 16, 2001 to repair the ACL and medial meniscus ... Has a 7-foot, 4-inch (88-inch) wingspan ... His father, Lonnie Shelton, was a first-team All-Pac-8 selection in 1975 at Oregon State who had a 10-year NBA career that included five seasons in Seattle. Lonnie averaged 13.5 points per game for the 1979 NBA champion Sonics ... Brother, L.J. Shelton, is a 6-7, 320-pound offensive tackle with the Arizona Cardinals. L.J. played at Eastern Michigan before being selected in the first round, the 21st pick overall, in the 1999 NFL Draft.. 2001-02 (Red-shirt) — Sat out the 2001-02 season as a red-shirt due to an injured left knee ... Re-injured the left knee he was rehabilitating in September and was sidelined the entire 2001-02 season ... Underwent another surgery on his left knee on Oct. 16 to repair his ACL and media meniscus. 2000-01 (Junior) — Recorded a double-double with 11 points and a career-high 13 rebounds against UC-Irvine (Dec. 28) ... Had a streak of 11 straight starts highlighted by an career high 13-point performance against Alabama (Dec. 21) against whom he also had seven rebounds ... Topped all Husky rebounders in four games ... Twice had double-figure rebounds in a game ... Attended Pete Newell’s Big Man Camp during the summer of 2000. 1999-2000 (Sophomore) — Played in 29 games with four starts … Scored season-high 10 points and pulled down four rebounds in a nine-minute stint at UCLA (March 11) … In a start against No. 2 Arizona (Feb. 10), collected a season-best eight rebounds … Grabbed seven rebounds against top-ranked Stanford (Feb. 26) ... Twice led all Husky rebounders in a game. 1998-99 (Freshman) — Played 13 games, including seven Pac-10 contests ... Had three rebounds and two points in an 11-minute playing stint at Hawai’i-Hilo (Nov. 27) ... Blocked two shots in one minute of action at Oregon State (Feb. 11) ...
