High School
Roy, a two-time most valuable player in the KingCo 4A league and three-year starter for Garfield -- one of the state's high school basketball powerhouses -- averaged more than 22.9 points and 10.4 rebounds as a senior.
Rated by some recruiting services as the No. 2 small forward in the West, he accepted a scholarship from Washington. The NCAA recently changed its eligibility rules so that a high school player could be drafted, then decide to play in college, provided he did not sign with an agent or the team that selected him.
