Assistant Head Coach/Quarterbacks
Steve Axman is in his fourth year as an assistant coach on Rick Neuheisel’s Husky staff. He added the responsibilities as assistant head coach prior to the 2001 season. Axman has a reputation for developing young quarterbacks and he has only expounded on that during his tenure at Washington.
He was the offensive coordinator at UCLA in 1987-88 where he coached Troy Aikman. Prior to UCLA, Axman coached at Stanford (1986), with the Denver Gold of the United States Football League (1985) and at the University of Arizona (1980-84), as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. Axman spent a year at Illinois, three seasons at Army and one season at Albany State.
Axman has authored six books and produced several instructional videos about football. |
