| James Johnson caught 69 passes for 1,458 yards and 19 touchdowns and had a 99-yard kickoff return. Eight times went over 100 yards and scored a touchdown in nine games. Best game was a six-catch, 187-yard and four touchdown performance in the CIF quarterfinals. Helped Valley Center to the CIF-San Diego Section title in 2007. Johnson says he can bench-press 245-pounds and squat 415. Johnson also claims a 38-inch vertical jump.
Partial senior (8-2) stats: 33 receptions for approximately 800 yards and 14 touchdowns; 30 tackles and five interceptions
Johnson: "I work hard and love to compete. I don't get beat and am focused on winning. I do a little bit of everything. I can be physical when I want to be, but also have good finesse.
"I believe you're always able to get better. I want to improve on everything and really go after the ball better. I'm always trying to learn about the game and understand things more."
Johnson doesn't know what he plans to major in, but says he'd like to be a firefighter. He reports a 3.2 core GPA and 1400 SAT.
