| Few freshman have come in with such high expectations for immediate success and contributions. This heralded recruit didn’t
disappoint in his first season and went on to play in 12 games after missing the season opener, and broke into the starting lineup vs. Arizona (fifth game). Aside from finishing the season second on the team in tackles among the down defensive lineman, he showed impressive quickness and agility blocking kicks vs. UCLA, USC and Washington. Had his first sack of the season at Arizona and finished with 3.5 sacks. Finished the year with a season-high seven tackles against the Beavers, which he had earlier matched vs. Idaho. The first-team freshman All-American also was accorded all-league honorable mention in addition to being recipient of the Len Casanova Award as team’s top newcomer. (Official Bio) |
