One-year letterman ... Backup point guard who started the final seven games of the 2002 season ... Stellar stopper who was voted the team’s Defensive Player of the Year last season ... Turned down numerous scholarship offers in order to walk on at Washington in the fall of 2001 ... Was awarded a scholarship on the first day of classes in 2001 when one unexpectedly became available. 2001-02 (Freshman) — Turned down scholarship offers in order to walk on at Washington, but then was awarded a scholarship when one became available on the first day of classes for the fall quarter ... Played all 29 games and drew the starting point guard assignment for the final seven games of the season ... Distributed a career-best eight assists at Arizona (Feb. 7) ... Tallied a career-high nine points at Oregon (Feb. 23) ... Ranked third on the team with 46 assists, the seventh-highest single-season total for a Husky freshman ... Led the team with six rebounds against Santa Clara (Nov. 24).

Four-year letterman at Seattle’s Garfield High School which compiled a 100-15 record during his prep career ... The Bulldogs won the league championship all four seasons ... Served as team captain his final two years ... Averaged 14.5 points, 3.6 assists and 2.0 steals per game in 2001 ... A first team All-KingCo Conference selection in 2001 ... The runner-up in the 2001 KingCo MVP voting ... Garfield finished with a 27-2 record in 2001 and was ranked No. 1 in the state for most of the season on the strength of a 23-game winning streak before an 85-82 double-overtime loss to Foss in the first round of the state tournament ...
