| Josh Tschirgi is from Skyview High School in Vancouver, Washington. Tschirgi distinguished himself as an All-League 4A Honorable Mention selection and was the Greater St. Helens League and Area Lineman of the Year. During his senior year, seven different running backs ran for over 100 yards behind him. At the June 2002 Nike Football Camp Tschirgi measured 6-4 and weighed 261 pounds but since then he has reportedly bulked up to an imposing 280 pounds. He ran the forty-yard dash in 5.2 seconds and remarkably the 20-yard shuttle in 4.49 second. He also recorded a vertical jump of 23 inches and completed 23 repetitions of the 185-pound bench press. A relative unknown to most recruiting services, after committing to Oregon Tschirgi did show up as an All-Region selection in PrepStar Magazine and as an All-Farwest selection in SuperPrep Magazine ranking him the 9th best prospect in the state of Washington in order of athletic and academic excellence. He is a national two-Star recruit and the 122nd lineman by theInsiders.com and was also offered scholarships by Portland State, Montana, Idaho State and Idaho. |
