| Biography: |
| Dennis Dixon is widely considered to be one of the top ten quarterbacks in the country, yet he decided to sign with Oregon even though he will delay his enrollment (grayshirt) until next winter and count against the class of 2004. The 6-4, 180 pound signal caller is considered by many to have the strongest throwing arm in the west, not to mention excellent 4.59 forty speed, and was invited to the prestigious Student Sport’s Elite 11 Quarterback Camp last summer. As a senior, Dixon completed 162 passes for 2426 yards and 30 touchdowns while leading his San Leandro High School team to a 12-1 record. Their only loss was to national champion De La Salle in the finals. Dixon is rated the #7 quarterback in the country by theInsiders.com and they list him as a Four-Star National recruit. Dennis was honored as a Parade Magazine All-American, is also the #2 ranked player on the Contra Costa Time’s “Cream of the Crop” list and was also picked as a 1st Team selection for the Long Beach Press Telegram’s “Best of the West” honors. If you yearn for more accolades, Dixon was also selected as an All-American by both PrepStar and SuperPrep magazines, named to Student Sport’s “Hot 100 football prospects” list and included in the Tacoma News Tribune’s Western 100 list. Dennis had this to say about his decision, “I am going to Oregon with only one purpose and that is to win a National Championship…” Despite interest from top football programs all over the country, in the end Dennis Dixon picked the Ducks over San Diego State, Utah and Washington. |
