Coach Romar on Ryan Appleby
"We really liked Ryan out of high school. Ryan is a good fit for what we want to do, get up and down the floor. He really can push the ball up the floor, he can shoot it with range and he sees the floor well and can really pass the ball. He's a phenomenal worker. Ryan understands the point guard position. He can handle the ball and shoot the basketball. He's played a year at the Division I level. He'll sit out this year and come in and be able to compete for a starting position at the point guard next year. It will be a win-win situation because he will be on the scout team every day. He's going to go up against Nate and Will every day. Those guys are going to have to play every day because he's a good basketball player. It's a great opportunity for Ryan and a big plus for our program for a number of reasons next year." |
