Hikeem Stewart, a 6-foot-2.5, 180-pound guard prospect from Rainier Beach High School in Seattle, Wash., sent out a tweet Monday night that he was ready to finish off the recruiting process and verbally commit to the Washington Huskies.

"Its official I comitted to the university of Washington yeEeeeeaaaaah let's go huskies!" was what Stewart wrote tonight, and Dawgman.com caught up with Stewart to confirm the note.

"I just committed," Stewart said. "I always wanted to go to UW."

He said the influence of UW Head Coach Lorenzo Romar played a big part in him choosing the Huskies over offers from Colorado, UNLV and Washington State.

"I talk to him a lot," Stewart said of Romar. "I finally made it official."

Stewart's older brothers - twins Lodrick and Rodrick - were both very well known in the Seattle hoops community, eventually committing to play for USC. Lodrick stayed his whole career at USC, while Rodrick eventually finished his career at Kansas.

Hikeem's father, Andrew 'Bull' Stewart won't have to worry about making travel plans to watch one of his youngest sons in college.

"He's loving it," Hikeem said when asked about his father's reaction. Stewart is considered the No. 36 shooting guard in the country by Scout.com, and he's very close to Tony Wroten, the No. 9-rated shooting guard from nearby Garfield High.

Will Wroten follow Stewart to Montlake? There had been reports linking the two together in the past, so we'll be watching closely in the following days to see if Wroten also decides to stay close to home.
