Huskies on the mind of James

Huskies on the mind of James

Unfortunately for Corona (Ca.) RB Jordon James, injuries are a part of the game of football. Last year as a junior he missed all but five games with a broken arm and this past weekend he suffered a bruised shoulder that could keep him out for a couple of weeks. Dawgman.com caught up with the talented back recently and he updated us on things including his thoughts on the Huskies...

"I got hit right on my shoulder by a guy's helmet," James told Dawgman.com. "It really stung and we thought it might be broken, but after getting it looked at, it's only a bruise and it feels a lot better now.

"I'll miss this week and next week we'll play it by ear how it responds. I'll be fine though. It's part of the game, especially for running backs."

James is one of the top running backs on the west coast and took his first official visit over the Labor Day weekend when he headed to Seattle to see Washington host LSU.

"That was a great game because it really showed how Washington has improved," James said. "They hung with LSU who is a great team and they almost had a chance to win if they hadn't made a couple of mistakes."

James said he loved every moment he was on campus and that he's looking forward to comparing his trip to Seattle with his other visits.

"I've only been to one school to visit officially, so I really don't have anything to compare it to right now," James said. "Washington really impressed me though. The coaches there are so energetic and the players are really believing in what they are doing so it's a great atmosphere and the fans have been really hyped up there for their games.

"I watched the USC game last week and to get the upset over a team that talented and to watch the camera shake like that, it's amazing. It was so loud there and the Huskies made plays down to the end and then got that win. I know it's big for what they are trying to do up there and I started to see what coach (Demetrice) Martin has been talking about. They are building this thing back up and they'll be back on top a lot sooner than people think they will."

James will visit California on October 3rd, Notre Dame on October 17th, Arizona on November 7th and UCLA on November 21st.

"I'm looking forward to taking the visits and seeing what those schools have to offer," James said. "I want to compare them to Washington and see where they stand. Washington was impressive though."

James said he is unsure when he will make his commitment, but that he plans to sit down with his family after all of his visits and start going through the decision-making process.
