Trip Report - Andru Pulu

Andru Pulu (Scout.com)

Scout.com spoke Sunday with Andru Pulu, a 6-foot-2, 245-pound linebacker prospect from Federal Way, Wash., and the Eagle was coming home after a busy weekend at Washington. He solidified his commitment, and talked about some others that have committed to the Huskies as well.

"I know Desmond (Trufant) did," Pulu said. "And we got a defensive tackle and a receiver, but I can't remember their names." He also said that besides him, Keith Price, Talia Crichton and Josh Moten were three other players that confirmed their previous commitments to first-year Head Coach Steve Sarkisian. Sarkisian told Pulu that they are recruiting him as a MIK linebacker.

"It was real fun," Pulu said of his visit. "The coaching staff is nice, the players are cool. Everyone is all excited. Everything was good." He added that he expects to be on campus by 'the end of June or mid-July'.

Cameron Elisara and Everrette Thompson were in charge of showing Pulu around the Husky Experience, and he soaked it all in. "Basically we hung around all the Poly kids, we were all stuck together," he said. "The food was really good and the hotel was nice too."

The highlight of Pulu's trip was his time at Husky Stadium. "Yesterday (Saturday) they took us through the tunnel and we were all barking," he said. "And then they showed us a highlight. That was a great experience."

While he waits for graduation, Pulu continues to work out and will join the Federal Way track team to compete in shot and discus. "But I'm going to work out with the sprinters too so I can get faster," he said.
