Fourth offer in the books for Williams

Scout.com spoke Sunday with Kasen Williams, a 6-foot-2, 195-pound receiver prospect from Skyline High School in Sammamish, Wash., and Williams let us know that he's received his fourth verbal scholarship offer - not too shabby for a prospect that won't be graduating high school until 2011.
"I just wanted to let you know that I talked to a
Stanford
coach (Tim Drevno), and they offered me," Williams said. "They asked me what side of the ball I like and I told them offense."
Williams finished with 56 catches for over 900 yards and 13 scores for the undefeated Spartans, winners of two state titles since Kasen joined the team.
Boise State
,
UCLA
and
Washington
are the other schools to have verbally offer Williams. NCAA rules prohibit colleges from offering scholarships to prospective student-athletes in writing until Sept. 1st of their junior season.
With Washington introducing their new head coach,
Steve Sarkisian
, recently, Williams was an interested spectator to the proceedings. "I need to talk to my Mom about scheduling a meeting with (Sarkisian)," Williams said, noting that he hasn't gotten a chance to meet Sarkisian yet. "(Skyline QB) Jake (Heaps) set up a meeting with him and he said he's a good guy, and I usually feel the same way as Jake does."
Now that their newest state championship is in the rear-view mirror, Williams is playing basketball for the Spartans and also planning his off-season football camp activity. "I definitely don't want to be hanging around on the couch," he said with a chuckle.
Williams will be traveling with Heaps and another Skyline player -
Cooper Pelluer
- to San Antonio, Tex. at the beginning of the year to take part in the U.S.
Army
All-American Combine. And like he did last year, Williams will also be taking part in the regional Barton camps, which start up January 3rd at the Dempsey Indoor Center at Washington.
