Another JC LB interested in Huskies?
In his two years at Cerritos, Justin has become a man. He runs a 4.5 40, benches 415 pounds and squats 620. So far this year, he has 82 tackles and 5 sacks, including 16 tackles in his last game. "They like my speed and my aggressiveness," he said, echoing sentiments given by college coaches recuruiting him. "I'm big and I'm fast. I tackle real well. I'm a leader too. I'm an all-around good person and a player. I wake up thinking about football and I go to sleep thinking about football."
And he's got a better idea of what's going on with the recruiting process the second time around. "This time I know what to ask, what to look for," he said. "In high school, I was going to go to the school that showed me the best time, but now I'm looking at more things than just having a good time. My major will be communications. I want to be a broadcaster, that's what I want to fall back on. And I'll be looking at the location of the school, see if my Mom likes it."
Interest seems to be coming hardest from North Carolina, LSU, Florida, Arizona State, North Carolina State, Washington and Kansas. He has offers from all of those schools except for one. "Washington hasn't offered me yet," Burks said. "They haven't talked to me in a while. The last time they talked to me they said they still needed to look at some film."
Justin already visited Florida the weekend of their game with Auburn. He has other official visits set to North Carolina (11/24), to Marshall (11/30) and LSU (12/13). When he graduates, Burks will have 3 to play 2.
