
Elma rolls again behind Basler

While this weekend was disappointing from a collegiate point of view, there were some impressive performances by some younger
players that give a glimpse into what the future might be. Here's a quick look at the weekend's top prep performers, including Elma's
Todd Basler, who continues to roll along at an impressive clip.

Nick Koller (Lacrosse-Washtucna) - Ran for 315 yards on 31 carries and 5 touchdowns in a 68-18 thumping over Prescott.
Jesse Minish (Chimacum) - Carried 28 times for 245 yards and 3 scores in a 38-14 victory over Port Townsend.
Glenn Gallagher (Edmonds-Woodway) - Had another impressive game as Kyle Trew's backup, running for 245 yards and two
scores in a 45-19 win over Everett.
Dylan Henderson (Lake Stevens) - Did double duty, running for 233 yards and a score and had 13 tackles on defense in a 14-0 win
over Cascade.
Dezmon Cole (North Thurston) - Ran 22 times for 225 yards and three touchdowns in a 38-7 win over Yelm.
Shawn Squires (Klahowya) - Was one of two players for Klahowya to run for over 200 yards, going for 222 yards on just 13 carries and
four touchdowns in a 70-21 trouncing of Vashon.
Justin Blake (Lake Quinault) - Ran for 221 yards and 4 touchdowns in a 64-52 win over Clallam Bay.
Kasey Kemmerer (Columbia-Hunters) - Carried the ball 27 times for 219 yards and a touchdown in a 34-28 victory over
Sprague-Harrington.
Tom Campbell (Tri-Cities Prep) - Ran for 216 yards and 4 touchdowns in a losing effort, 34-28 to Jubilee Christian.
Chase Buffington (Onalaska) - Was the difference, running for 216 yards and 2 touchdowns in a 21-14 win over Ocosta.
J.R. Hasty (Bellevue) - James Hasty's son, a 10th grader, showed promise for the future by running for 215 yards on just 11 carries, 2
of them for scores in a 48-6 win over Cedarcrest.
Ryan DeLong (Fife) - One of two Fife running backs to go for over 200 yards against Franklin Pierce. DeLong romped for 212 yards
on only 11 carries and two touchdowns in a 49-28 win over Pierce.
Ben Schrenk (Tumwater) - Ran for 212 yards and 2 scores in a 42-14 win over Timberline.
Jesse Alderson (Meridian) - Accounted for 210 yards on the ground on only 7 carries, six of them for scores as Meridian rolled, 77-0
over North Surrey (BC).
Alefosio Hefa (Cleveland) - Was a lone bright spot for Cleveland in a 32-16 loss to Rainier Beach, running for 207 yards on 28 carries
and 2 scores.
Rory Lee (Klahowya) - Ran for 206 yards on 15 carries and three scores in a 70-21 win over Vashon.
Tony Coburn (Pasco) - The sophomore ran all over Kamiakin, going for 206 yards on 33 carries and 3 touchdowns, but Pasco ended
up on the losing end, 42-35 in two overtimes.
Cavell Reed (Fife) - 206 yards on only 11 carries and four touchdowns in a 49-28 victory over Franklin Pierce.
Todd Basler (Elma) - Continues to rack up chunks of yardage, this weekend running for 206 yards on 31 carries and one score as
Elma defeated Montesano 53-7.
Jon Williams (Redmond) - Ran for 203 yards on 18 carries, three of those finding the end zone, in a 45-3 win over Juanita.
Victor Valle (South Kitsap) - 202 yards on 44 carries and two scores as the Wolves outlasted Gig Harbor 21-14 in overtime.
Derrick Bradley (Kamiak) - Ran for 199 yards on 25 carries and two scores and also returned a fumble 81 yards for another score as
the Knights made it past Mariner 21-14.
Keauntea Bankhead (Ballard) - Keauntea put on a show with a 33-yard TD reception and two punt returns for touchdowns, from
57 and 50 yards out, in a 43-7 romp over Garfield.
Andrew Thomas (Prosser) - Threw for 434 yards on 28-42 passing and three touchdowns in a 48-28 loss to West Valley, breaking the
Mustangs' string of 15 straight league titles.
Brad Addink (White River) - Went 23-44 for 342 yards and a score as White River squeezed out a 10-7 win over River Ridge.
Brian Foreman (Skyline) - The Spartans' QB continues to throw for big yardage, going for 319 yards on 21-38 passing and three
touchdowns as Skyline blanked Interlake 35-0.
Jay Brossman (Pullman) - Threw for 310 yards and two touchdowns in a 20-14 loss to Chewelah.
Steven Davis (Kamiakin) - The Braves went to the air, as Davis threw for 298 yards and 4 touchdowns as they beat Pasco 42-35 in
two overtimes.
Adam Perry (R.A. Long) - Went 22-38 for 282 yards, with four going for scores in a 49-33 loss to Camas.
Jeff Wells (Lakes) - Wells was magnificently efficient for the Lancers going 14-15 for 260 yards and 5 touchdowns in a 41-13 win over
Washington.
Brian Cresto (Cle Elum) - Threw for 254 yards on only 5 completions, 4 for scores in a 55-20 over Highland.
Dustin Haggett (Kamiakin) - Was Steven Davis' main recipient in Kamiakin's 42-35 win over Pasco in two overtmes, catching 7
passes for 194 yards and one score.
Conor Laffey (Prosser) - Caught 14 balls for 192 yards and 2 touchdowns in a 48-28 loss to West Valley.
Jens Gilbertson (Prosser) - The other Mustang to profit from Andrew Thomas' prolific night, Gilbertson went for 188 yards on 9
receptions and one touchdown in a 48-28 loss to West Valley.
Jesse Gran (White River) - Brad Addink's main threat through the air, Gran caught 10 passes for 184 yards in a 10-7 win over River
Ridge.
Matt Tuiasosopo (Woodinville) - Had 341 total yards of offense, passed for three touchdowns and ran for another to lead the
Falcons to a 35-21 win over Marysville-Pilchuck.
Ryan Conwell (Kentwood) - Had four sacks and led the Conks defense, holding Kentlake to 94 total yards offense in a 29-13 win.
Matt Coombs (Bellevue) - Had a 40-yard rushing score and also picked off two passes, one for a touchdown, as the Wolverines
rolled over Cedercrest 48-6
Brandon Elliott (Fife) - Brandon picked off Franklin Pierce three times, including a 66-yard return for a score, as Fife beat Pierce
49-28. He has 14 picks for the season.
