Anthony Stover just keeps growing and growing. Currently a sophomore at La Canada (Calif.) Renaissance Academy in Southern California, Stover continues to add inches, and isn’t expecting to stop any time soon.

“I’m 6-foot-10, 210 (pounds),” he told Dawgman.com recently. “I think I’ve still got some room to grow, because I’ve grown and inch or two in the last month.”

And still growing. He’s been told that he can expect to add a couple more inches.

“Maybe around 7-foot, hopefully 7-1,” he said.

With a post game just starting to emerge, he did his best to describe the current state of his game.

“I’m a big man, but I don’t like to strictly just post up,” explained Stover. “I like to bring it out some times and hit the short range jump shot and my favorite thing to do is defense. I go after every shot to block it. I average about nine blocked shots a game.”

His stats speak for themselves.

“I’m averaging around 12 points, 12 boards and nine blocks a game, almost a triple double.” he added.

At a featherweight 210 pounds, Stover clearly has a lot of work to do in the weight room before he’s ready to mix it up at the college level.

“My weakness was inside scoring, because I haven’t been too strong at that but I’m getting better.” Stover explained. “My friend Hector and I eat an entire pizza each and don’t gain a pound.

"I haven’t spent much time in the weight room, but I probably should now,” he added. "But coaches think that I’ll be able to add some weight and muscle.”

Stover also updated us on his hoops recruitment, which has really started to increase of late.

“Most of the Pac-10 is showing me a lot of attention,” he shared. “USC and Stanford have shown the most interest so far.

“I have offers from Stanford and USC plus some smaller schools. Washington State also offered me."

The University of Washington is now showing interest as well, and he’s listening.

“I talk to (Washington assistant coach) Coach (Paul) Fortier a lot,” shared Stover. "And Coach (Lorenzo) Romar, whose been out to a game of mine.”

With recruiting just starting to get rolling, Stover is not ready to narrow down his list of schools.

“I don’t really have a top three or four schools – I haven’t really tried to narrow it down yet,” he said. “I have interest in Texas, Washington, Washington State, Stanford, UCLA - but basically all Pac-10 schools.”
