Cody Bruns, a 5-foot-11, 170-pound receiver prospect from Prosser, Wash. verbally committed to Washington over an offer from Washington State Monday night, his family was able to confirm.

"Yes, he committed to Washington tonight," Bruns' Mother told Scout.com. Attempts to reach Cody late Monday night for comment were unsuccessful.

Bruns, a four-star prospect and the No. 34-ranked receiver in the country by Scout.com, did it on the other side of the ball, picking off two passes and helping the Prosser Mustangs to a 47-30 2A semifinal win over Lynden. The Mustangs will face Burlington-Edison for the State 2A crown Saturday morning at 10 a.m.

For the season, Bruns has over 1000 yards receiving and 19 touchdowns. "I run crisp routes and have good body control," Bruns told Allen Wallace of Superprep recently. "I can go up and catch the rock. That's my objective. I feel like I'm a technician on the field."

We'll have more from Cody and his decision a little later on.
