Terrence Jennings continues to skyrocket up the recruiting charts, impressing fans and coaches alike with his high-flying, versatile game. Dawgman.com caught up with him in Las Vegas for an update.
The 6-foot-9 post put on quite a show, and seems to be clicking well with his teammates after a roster shake-up for the California-based Play Hard, Play Smart - a squad that also features
Washington
Husky commit Elston Turner Jr. as the point guard.
“We’ve combined teams between Play Hard, Play Smart and the Pharaohs,” Jennings shared with Dawgman.com. “I’m just spending all of my free time in the gym working hard, and I think it shows on the court.”
Like most highly-regarded recruits, Jennings has spent much of his summer jetting across the country from one camp or tournament to the next.
“At the Reebok camp it’s more guard-oriented so I like coming down here and playing with my teammates because we have much better chemistry,” said Jennings. “It’s going pretty good and we’re winning, so that’s the most important thing.”
Despite going seemingly non-stop, Jennings still having fun.
“It’s a lot of fun and we like to get up and down the court, plus there are all of these colleges watching us,” he said, regarding some of his highlights. “It’s real fun playing for a college scholarship and preparing for my education.”
Jennings is taking his time with his college decision, seemingly content to let things play out at a leisurely pace despite the constant attention. As for the Huskies’ place on his school list, they are still right in the thick of it.
“Recruiting is going pretty good with my top three
Maryland
, Washington and
Kentucky
with Kentucky jumping in there recently, but I’m just waiting right now and taking my time with the decision,” he said.
