Conversations with local sports figures go beyond the competition to reveal the rarely seen personal side.

FSN Northwest has created yet another opportunity for fans to learn more about their favorite teams and players with In My Own Words, an insightful and personal conversation with local players, coaches and personalities that reveals the private side to these professionals through no ones' words but their own. In My Own Words will debut on March 24th at 9:00p.m. with an episode featuring Sonics reserve Damien Wilkins, who discloses the very sensitive nature of his relationship with his father, NBA veteran Gerald Wilkins.

New episodes of In My Own Words will run weekly, with shows already scheduled featuring Mariners Manager Mike Hargrove, Sonics All-Star Ray Allen, Mariners infielder Jeremy Reed, Sonics point guard Luke Ridnour and local basketball legend, Hall of Famer Lenny Wilkens.

FSN has created this show for sports fans that are looking for the best, most in-depth information and stories they can find. Better than listening to the analysis, better than reading the stats, viewers will get the most personal thoughts, beliefs and stories directly from the subjects themselves.

The concept is simple, but the outcome is not.

Only with In My Own Words will you begin to understand the depth of love and respect Manager Mike Hargrove has for his wife Sharon, as he reflects on the day they met at the community swimming pool in junior high and his description of her as the glue of their family.

Only with In My Own Words will you hear Kenji Johjima explain that he became a catcher only because his childhood best friend was a pitcher and he needed someone to catch for him.

Only with In My Own Words will you appreciate the unique relationship between a father and son as Jeremy Reed reveals the emotional struggles of playing in the minor leagues and how his conversations with his dad helped get him through some tough challenges.

Only with In My Own Words does a conversation about sports become much, much more.
