Merrill commits to Huskies

Patience is a virtue. Gig Harbor (Wash.) S Jake Merrill is a testament to that old tenet. After being asked by Husky head coach Tyrone Willingham to be patient while the team determined their needs, Merrill received a written offer from the Husky coaching staff on Thursday afternoon and he made his decision quickly thereafter.

"I committed to the University of Washington about 30 minutes ago," an excited Merrill told Dawgman.com. "I'm so excited to be apart of what they have going on up there. "All week I have been playing phone tag with the coaches from Washington, so I knew they were trying to get in touch with me."
