Husky Offer Means A Lot To Eason

Husky Offer Means A Lot To Eason

Lake Stevens (Wa.) QB Jacob Eason, one of the top junior quarterbacks in the country, says UW's offer 'means a little more' than the other offers he's received...

"We had our 7-on-7 today and afterwards, they pulled me aside and they wanted to talk to me, so I went up to coach (Chris) Petersen's office and met with him and he said they had done enough evaluation of me and they liked me and what I could do and they were offering me a scholarship," Eason said as he returned home from a long day on Montlake. "It actually means a little more to me than some of these other offers I've gotten just because they're the hometown team and they took their time and made sure I was really their guy."

Eason spent time working out in front of the Husky staff at the Rising Stars camps this weekend as well and he said he felt good about the way he performed.

"You always feel there are things you could do better and stuff like that, but I felt I did as well as I could and they said I did really well and they were impressed with me," Eason noted.

The offer from the Huskies is Eason's 13th, joining the offers he already had received from Alabama, Colorado, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Miami, Michigan, Notre Dame, Oklahoma State, Oregon State, Tennessee and Washington State.

As a sophomore this past season, Eason completed nearly 60% of his passes for 2,941 yards with 23 touchdowns and eight interceptions while leading his team to a 6-4 record.

He said while the Husky offer is big in terms of what it means, he's not really thinking about making a decision any time soon.

"I'm thinking it will be a little bit after my junior season. That would be ideal for me," Eason said. "I know quarterbacks are usually early commits and that's when I'd like to figure that out and be done with it."

We will have more on Eason in the coming weeks and months and he prepares for his junior season and gets closer to making his decision.
