Lockett impressed with visit to Husky Stadium
Lockett, being from California, mixed well with all of the Golden State players on the team. He especially enjoyed a select few, along with some players from down south in Texas.
"I mostly talked to all of the Cali guys. (Brandon) Beaver, Keishawn (Bierria), Troy (Williams), (John) Ross and some guys from Texas. I liked them a lot. It was fun being around them all," said Lockett.
The four-star corner has been committed to Washington for over two months now and has been letting other recruits know why he committed to the Huskies. So, does that mean he is recruiting any other players?
"Yeah, I am," said Lockett. "I'm just mainly telling them how things would work out if they were to come here. I've just been working on convincing them."
The Husky coaches have told Lockett all along that they want him to come in and contribute early at a defensive back position. This is why his main recruiter has been Keith Hayward. Lockett enjoys the relationship he has built with the second-year defensive backs coach.
"He is a great coach," Lockett said. "The main thing I like about him is that he tells you straight up what's going on."
Despite his commitment to Washington, other schools have not backed off of Lockett. UCLA is still actively recruiting him, along with Notre Dame. The Fighting Irish have piqued his interest a little bit and he might go and check out South Bend in the near future.
"Yeah, I'm planning on setting up something with Notre Dame for an official visit, but I'm not sure yet," said Lockett. "I'll probably visit when they play USC."
Even though Lockett wants to check out Notre Dame, he insists one thing is true.
"Right now, I'm 100% Washington."
He also noted that we will officially visit Washington later in the season, but does not have that visit planned out as of right now.
