The beginning stages of the recruiting may not be the most exciting time of the entire process, but it’s a necessary step in the year ahead.
For Bryce Beaton, he is right in the middle of the beginning stages.
“Just talking to a few coaches, getting ready to go to camps, all that kind of stuff,” Beaton said of his recruiting contact and off-season plans thus far. “I’ve been in most contact through email with Oregon and Arizona State.”
Oregon offensive line coach Steve Greatwood visited Oaks Christian near signing day to check out the talent-rich Lions squad.
“I met and talked with him (Greatwood) a little bit,” he said. “I’m planning on going to Oregon’s team camp this summer so that will be an unofficial visit as well.”
Beaton doesn’t hold any offers as of yet but is working on his game to ensure one will be in the near future.
“I’d say my biggest strength is my physicality,” he said. “We want to be physical at Oaks so I feel like I do a good job run blocking and I’d say I need to improve my pass blocking.”
