Andrew Wiggins is still Scout.com’s No. 1 ranked player.
An elite level athlete, Wiggins is the clear top prospect in the 2013 class. He’s the best defender in the class, a tremendous rebounder and a nightmare to defend offensively because of his ability to get to the rim and finish.
There wasn’t much movement at the top of our updated 2013 player rankings. Noah Vonleh is the only prospect in our top 10 to move up, as he jumped from No. 8 to No. 7 overall.
That leaves Jabari Parker at No. 2, with Andrew Harrison, Aaron Harrison and Julius Randle closing out the top five.
Aaron Gordon checked in at No. 6, Vonleh is at No. 7 and Kasey Hill, Chris Walker and James Young round out top 10.
Who moved up?
While there wasn’t much movement at the top, there were certainly some significant moves in the updated list.
The biggest mover was Louisville signee Terry Rozier, who jumped from No. 83 up to No. 15 overall. Rozier’s game has evolved over the past year, as he’s more athletic, has great speed and is a very good long-range shooter.
Nigel Williams-Goss also made a significant move in the updated rankings. The Washington signee moved from No. 96 overall into the top 50 with his strong senior season at Henderson (Nev.) Findlay Prep.
Highland (Utah) Lone Peak center also made a big jump from No. 71 overall to No. 37. The physical post prospect is active in the paint, has developed scoring moves and rebounds his area quite well.
Some other prospects that made big moves in the rankings include Joel Embiid, Devin Williams, Marcus Allen, Josh Hart, Marcus Lee and Austin Nichols.
Newcomers to the list
Although there are always a fewer amount of newcomers to the lists as the classes mature, there were still five new names to the 2013 list.
Brandon Randolph, who has been in the rankings before, jumped back in at No. 81 overall with his strong play this year.
Detrick Mostella, Wes Clark, B.J. Johnson and Tre’Shaun Fletcher all made their first appearances in the 2013 recruiting rankings.
