Dawgman.com caught up Sunday with Andrew Kirkland, a 6-foot-5, 290-pound offensive lineman from Jesuit High School in Portland, Ore., and Kirkland, who verbally committed to Washington in early July, has waited a long time to take his official visit, but according to him it couldn't have gone any better.

"Everything is kind of a lull at the moment with my school right now, we're going to start studying and we've got finals next week," he said when asked about the timing of the trip. "The students are back, so we got to meet some of them too, so it was good timing overall.
