Redfield goes Irish

Coming from a familiar school for recruiting fans, Mission Viejo (Calif.) product Max Redfield has known of his school of choice for some time – but he made his commitment to Notre Dame public on Friday.

As one of five players announcing his commitment at the Under Armour All-America game Friday, Max Redfield's decision may have been known the longest.

"Next year I'll be joining the number one team in the country, the University of Notre Dame."

The four-star DB knew of his destination for some time.

"I've known it for a while, I kind of got aside from it for a little bit, but I've pretty much been pretty set on it for a while," he admitted earlier in the week.

Redfield is the No. 7 safety in the class of 2013 on FOX Sports NEXT/Scout.com.
