Posted Jan 4, 2013 four-star safety Max Redfield announced his intentions to sign with Notre Dame today during the Under Armour All-American Game.

Notre Dame continues earning pledges from some of the top talent in the 2013 recruiting class and that trend continued Friday at the Under Armour All American Game as Mission Viejo (Calif.) four-star safety Max Redfield issued his verbal pledge to the Irish.

Redfield, who stands 6-foot-2, 195-pounds, picked the Irish over USC and will bring great physical size as well as great instincts and a high football IQ with him to South Bend.

Early in the week Redfield had the following to say about the Irish.

“Notre Dame has great academics; great coaches and they’re playing for the national championship,” Redfield told “They have great facilities and it’s a great place to be, a wonderful place to be. Their academics take them to another level,” said Redfield. “With USC, I get along with the players. I have friends I played with in high school on the team. I’ve been talking to the coaches since I was a sophomore and it’s close to home.”

The team will have more on Redfield's decision following the game.
