Huskies can't get past UConn
Usual stat stars C.J. Wilcox and N'Diaye struggled mightily and had their worst games in their Husky careers. The sharpshooting Wilcox finished with five points on 2-12 shooting and N'Diaye couldn't even hit a number on a six-sided dice, finishing the game with zero points, missing three shots and grabbing three boards.
Beyond all the negatives, Desmond Simmons shined throughout with his constant effort and all-around play. The sophomore finished with six points, but added 10 rebounds, three steals and a block.
Steadying the ship, Andrew Andrews played well in the second half to get Washington back into the game. The redshirt freshman point guard was able to dribble penetrate, creating several easy looks for this teammates, finishing with nine points, six rebounds, two assists and one steal.
Senior guard Scott Suggs led all UW scorers with 15 points on just 5-15 shooting from the floor.
Connecticut was led by the 14 points of Omar Calhoun, followed closely by Shabazz Napier's 13 and Ryan Boatwright's 12, respectively.
Washington will return to action next Saturday as Pac-12 play with open with a game in Pullman against Washington State at 6:30 p.m.
