Mission Viejo (Calif.) four-star safety, Max Redfield, who is now focused on his high school hoops season, had some special spectators in the bleachers on Saturday night.
"Coach (Lane) Kiffin, (Kennedy) Polamalu, and (John) Baxter went to my basketball game," he shares. "And then Coach (Marvin) Sanders and (Tee) Martin came to my house, so there were five coaches there total."
The 6-foot-2, 195-pound athlete had positive remarks about his in-home visit with USC, a school he was once committed to.
"I feel like it went well," the prospect describes. "They talked about me going there and how I would be No.1 and what I'm going to get education wise and I'll be close to my family.
Sanders and Martin did not arrive at the Redfield home empty-handed.
"We had dessert and they stayed until 10:15," he says. "They brought the jersey I would be wearing if I go there."
The question now, is whether or not Redfield can picture himself in that uniform. Will it be USC or Notre Dame? It's a question that the senior already has an answer to.
As he told FOX Sports NEXT several days ago, his mind is already made up.
The defensive back is now just waiting until the Under Armour All-American Game on Thursday, January 5th, to announce his decision publicly.
It's a choice that he says has not been altered.
"My decision is the same [as it was last week]," Redfield confirms.
"It came down to making a business decision and what school offers the most academically and athletically," he told FOX Sports NEXT on Friday. "I had to cut the emotions out and go with what would be best for me in the long run."
Redfield is not expecting any other in-home visits at this time.
