McGary takes in UW bowl practice
On the recruiting front, McGary saw his recruiting blow up in November as he added offers from Oregon, Washington State, Utah and Arizona State while already having offers from Washington and Oregon State.
"It was pretty crazy actually," McGary said humbly. "It felt good though getting those offers. I have some other schools looking at me and showing me interest, but those are the schools that have offered.
"All of them like me either on the offensive or defensive line, but a couple have mentioned tight end," McGary said. "It doesn't really matter much to me, but if I could play tight end, that would be pretty cool."
At a legitimate 6'6" and weighing in at 280 pounds, McGary, who loves to wear a cowboy hat almost everywhere he goes, is hard to miss the moment you see him walk in the door and he was in attendance at Washington's practice last Saturday as they prepare to take on Boise State in the Maaco Bowl, December 22nd.
"They had a really up-tempo practice," McGary said. "It was pretty cool to see it live and what they go through and stuff. I took my dad with me and we had a lot of fun.
"I talked with a couple of the coaches and also with a couple of the visitors there too."
As far as making a decision, that isn't even on McGary's mind at this point in time and he said he will wait a while before contemplating where he will play his college football.
"I'm not really thinking about that stuff right now," McGary said. "I'm playing basketball and I haven't even really gotten into recruiting yet. I want to get some offers, take some (unofficial) visits and see some schools so that I can make sure I am making the right decision."
We will continue to keep track of McGary's progress through the early part of the recruiting process and we will update news with him as it happens.
