Willis recaps Florida State visit

Tempe (Ariz.) Marcos De Niza defensive back Priest Willis took an official visit to Florida State over the weekend and said he loved his time in Tallahassee.

Elite corner Priest Willis has taken an official visit to Nebraska and the trip to Florida State was visit No. 2 for him.

"I've been to the state of Florida lots of times but this was my first time ever visiting Florida State," Willis said. "The atmosphere was crazy and the pre-game was probably the highlight of the trip. When they did the war chant before the game and then the chief plants the spear in the middle of the field, that was just crazy.

"The whole game atmosphere was a lot of fun. It wasn't quite as crazy as Nebraska, I'm not sure anything can top that but it was right there with UCLA, probably a little louder. I like the way the team plays and I think I would fit in really well there. Coach Stoops is the one recruiting me and we have a good relationship and I got along great with all the players too so it was a great visit."

Willis said he clicked well with the players and loved the campus life as well.

"Marvin Bracy was my host and he was real cool," Willis said. "All the players were great and we all got along real well. It's hard to explain but it's definitely a different feeling being in the South compared to the West Coast. There is just a different vibe to it but I was definitely comfortable there and thought I fit in with everything.

"The campus is great, it's a beautiful place, just like I expected. The girls are incredible, Tallahassee is a cool college town and the overall environment there made it a great trip. The coaches like me as a corner but said they want to move me around and take advantage of my versatility. I like the defense they play a lot and FSU is definitely a school I'm going to consider all the way up to the time I make my decision."

Willis' next official visit will be to Virginia this weekend and LSU is set for (Dec. 14). He'll make his decision January 5 at the Under Armour All-American game.

"Over the next few weeks, I'll be having some home visits and Arizona State and Coach Long was just here tonight," Willis said. "It was cool, I feel like I already know a lot about the program but the coaches just want to reinforce everything I think and make sure you don't have any questions about the school or football program. "LSU will be by next week and I'm sure the other schools on my list will be coming by too but I haven't talked to them about it yet or locked in a date. I'm sure I'll be busy but it will be fun so I'm looking forward to it all."
