Koehler, a 6-foot-3, 320-pounder, visited Tennessee officially for the Vols game with Missouri and enjoyed the local tunes.
"I enjoyed my stay at Tennessee," Koehler said. "Everyone sings Rocky Top after every touchdown and every big defensive play. That was probably my favorite thing. It was probably one of my favorites so far. I love the way the stadium was throughout the whole game."
A three-star prospect according to FOX Sports NEXT, Koehler has been drawn to Tennessee by offensive line coach Sam Pittman.
"Coach Pittman," said Koehler when asked what stood out about the Vols. "I love him as a coach and I love him as a recruiter. He is probably one of the best you will ever see."
"Everyone is equal. Everyone is on the same level right now," Koehler said. "I am just trying to get through the process."
However, like Tennessee fans, Koehler is in a state of waiting with the shaky status of head coach Derek Dooley and his staff following an 0-6 start to the SEC schedule.
"I try not to pay attention to it," he said. "I will deal with that when it comes, but right now I am just trying to weigh out my options. As long coach (Pittman) stays I will stay. I will probably stay happy here."
Teammate Colton Goeas, a three-star middle linebacker, is already committed to the Vols, but Koehler will wait to make he decision at the Army All-American Game on January 5.
