Andrews camped with Duke over the summer where he impressed enough to pick up an offer from the Blue Devils. He committed just a few days later but the Blue Devils have some stiff competition in this one.
"UCLA offered me last week," Andrews said. "I was totally surprised by it, I really didn't expect it. They were sending me letters here and there and then really picked up their interest over the last month or so. Then I got a call from Coach Yarber, the wide receiver coach and he said they were offering so I was pretty excited.
Coach Yarber, too, happens to be Andrews' uncle.
"I was at their game last weekend against Arizona and they looked really good. The atmosphere was crazy and I had a good time there. I plan on taking an official visit there as well and I'm going to give them a serious look. I'm still committed to Duke but UCLA is definitely in the discussion."
"I still really like Duke a lot, it's a good fit for me," Andrews said. "What I did was take football out of the equation and academics are big for me. It's tough to beat a Duke education and I also have always wanted to leave home and experience something new. That's why this is going to be such a tough decision for me in the end but after I take my visits, I think I'll have a good idea of what I want to do."
Bishop Amat will take on Long Beach Poly in a Pac 5 1st round game this Friday.
