Hunt recaps his visit to Oregon State

DB Dashon Hunt

Westlake Village (Calif.) Westlake defensive back Dashon Hunt took his second official visit of the year over the weekend to Oregon State after earlier visiting Nebraska.

Dashon Hunt is one of the top corner backs in the region. He's a very talented running back as well but is being recruited primarily on the defensive side of the ball.

"I liked the visit to Oregon State a lot, I can't think of a single negative about the trip, it was all good," Hunt said. "I think the best part was just hanging out with the players and coaches and getting to know those guys better. It's a real family atmosphere and I felt very comfortable the whole time I was there.

"Rod Perry is the coach who's recruiting me and we have a real good relationship. I also spent a lot of time with Coach Banker and Coach Riley as well and they're both great guys. Coach Riley has been there for a long time and he's such a class guy and treats everyone with so much respect, I really like him a lot."

In comparing his two visits, Hunt said there were a lot of similarities between the two schools.

"Both Nebraska and Oregon State are small college towns with very passionate fan bases," Hunt said. "It was a little colder in Nebraska and obviously the location is a factor too. Oregon State is closer so my family can come and see me play a lot easier but I would say the two schools are running neck and neck right now, I couldn't decide between the two.

"I have a trip set with Boise State in two weeks (Nov. 16) and California (Dec. 7). Boise State is really recruiting me hard and I like the coaching staff a lot. Cal is a great school and I'm close with the staff. It's close to home and great academically. My plan is to take these last two visits and then sit down with my family and coaches, weigh all the pros and cons and figure out where the best place for me is."
