Top JUCO DL prospect considering UW visit

As one of the top JUCO defensive linemen in the country, Dodge City DL Marcus Hardison has over 30 offers to his name and the Huskies are one the most recent. Dawgman.com spoke to the uber-talented lineman and he updated us on things including why he is considering a visit to Montlake in the near future...

"Washington just offered me a few days ago," Hardison told Dawgman.com. "They have been showing me interest for a little while and their defensive line coach (Tosh Lupoi) is the one that has been recruiting me.

"He said he likes my versatility and he wants to get me up there for a visit. I actually just got some information from them on my visit, so I'm probably going to set that up soon."

So with 30-plus offers, why is Hardison considering a visit to Washington, considering they just offered?

"I talked to coach Tosh and my coaches here at Dodge City and they both said it's a great program and they are rising a lot. They play in the Pac 12, so there are a lot of great offenses out there and to play against great offenses on defense is what you sorta live for because if you can shut them down, you are doing something special.

"I also like them because of the chance to play early. They have a bunch of young guys there, so they are looking for some older guys to come in and play and help them get to a championship."

Hardison said that early playing time will be the biggest determinant in where he ends up.

"After I leave here, I will only have two years left, so I have to find a place that I can showcase what I can do in the time I'm there," Hardison said. "I don't expect them to just hand me a spot, I gotta earn it, but I want to chance to go in and compete right away and that's what I'll be looking at."

Hardison already has a visit set up with Arizona State for November 16th and he noted that Florida State and West Virginia, along with Washington, will likely be the other schools he visits.

"I haven't set anything up with those schools yet, but those are the ones I want to visit," Hardison noted.

We will have more on Hardison in the coming weeks and months as he starts to set up firm dates for his visits to those schools.
