Oakley (Calif.) Freedom receiver Darrell Daniels (6-3, 200), has been committed to Washington since June, and the four-star said he’s not wavered one bit.
“I just love the coaches, the coaching staff was amazing, the academics were amazing, and I just believe in what they want to do in the future,” said Daniels. “Me and Coach (Tosh) Lupoi have had great conversations and I liked how he explained things and Coach Sark (Steve Sarkisian), I love the way he builds his team and molds his team.”
Daniels said he’s been keeping a close eye on the Huskies this year, and stays in contact with his future teammates, specifically quarterback verbal Troy Williams and fellow Bay Area commit Elijah Qualls.
“I’ve been watching their offense and they want to get the ball to their big receivers a lot, and it will be fun to play alongside Kasen Williams,” said Daniels. “I talk to Troy on Twitter and can’t wait to play with him. And me and Elijah have a real good relationship and we talk a lot.”
Initially, he was scheduled to visit Washington this weekend officially, when the Huskies host USC, but Daniels has pushed that back. Daniels said he is planning to take some official visits to a couple of other schools.
“I might go down to Miami for an official visit and I’m going to go to UCLA too for a trip,” said Daniels. “And of course Washington, I’m going to visit. I’m not sure when though. I still talk to some other coaches, but I’m solid to Washington. The trips won’t make a difference. I just want the experience of the visits.”
Daniels has 14 touchdown receptions and three touchdown runs this year, has returned two kicks for a touchdown and has two touchdowns that have gone for 90-yards. He also has two picks playing safety.
“It’s been nice being committed, because I have a lot more time to focus on my team and focus on my senior season and get ready to go to Washington,” said Daniels.
