NEWSLINE: McWashington back in game he loves

SHAWN McWASHINGTON, the story goes, has in many ways been preparing for his new job his entire life. That new job will take him back to Washington State as the color man in a three-man booth this fall. He also had a prediction for the number of wins Washington State will have in the 2012 campaign.

Football has never been far from McWashington's mind. It's been 15 years since he played his last game in the Rose Bowl, and two decades since he was a star prep QB.

"I could step out on that (Garfield High) field right now and run our old offense," he said. "I've always been that way about football. I just love the game so much."
