IF THE ENTHUSIASM and speed with which Mike Leach's first WSU recruiting class responds to text messages is any indication, the future of the program is bright. A quick note to members of the class asking them to fire over a heads up upon their arrival in Pullman has yielded an outpouring of missives as the young guns descend on Pullman for the start of summer classes and voluntary workouts.

Niu Sale, Ioane Gauta, Keith Ewing and Theron West, are in town, and Taylor Taliulu and Sam Flor just arrived a short time ago.

"I'm at WalMart right now with my mom," said Taliulu, after flying in from Seattle following the trip to the mainland from Honolulu yesterday.

After stocking up on body wash, toothpaste and other essentials, he's planning to head to the football offices to find some of his classmates, he said.

He shouldn't have to wait long to find anyone.

The roll call of class members who have communicated their status with CF.C today is a long one.

Austin Apodaca got to Spokane yesterday and says he will cover the final 75 miles today. Austin Brown says he'll arrive around 4 p.m. today -- about the same time Brett Bartelone flies in from his stopover in Portland.

Jeremiah Allison says he will arrive today, too. Garbiel Mark reports that he is en route, and Khalil Pettway and Alex Jackson texted that they'll arrive this weekend.

For most, orientation is expected to begin on tomorrow, with classes starting shortly thereafter.

CF.C will update this story and the premium message board as we learn the status of other members of the class.

Two members who will not be arriving for summer school are JC offensive lineman Sam Jones, who is an academic casualty, and prep offensive lineman B.J. Salmonson, who is grayshirting this fall. We have not secured a status report on Robert Lewis, who told us earlier this month that a grayshirt could be in the works for him.
