Visit from UW coaches effective with Cozens

Chaparral (Scottsdale, Az.) DE Dylan Cozens got some visitors earlier this week when new Washington defensive coordinator Justin Wilcox and defensive line coach Tosh Lupoi made a visit to his school. Here's what he had to say after his visit and where things stand with less than seven days until Signing Day...

"Coach Wilcox and coach Lupoi came down and visited me," Cozens told Dawgman.com. "We met at my school for a while and I got to know them a little bit better.

"It went really well. They were great guys and we just talked about what their philosophies are and how they like what I can do out on the field.

"I had already met coach (Peter) Sirmon, so this is just me getting to know them all better so I can make my decision and have confidence it is the right one."

One of the top defensive linemen left on Washington's board, Cozens is an outstanding athlete measuring in at nearly 6'6" and weighing in at 245 pounds, and the Huskies have told him they want him badly, but they also want him to take his time.

"They told me they are patient and will wait until I'm ready," Cozens said. "They said they'd love to get me in there and to add me to their lineup, but they didn't pressure me at all which was nice because some have been sorta pressuring me."

With the Husky visits out of the way, Steve Sarkisian visited earlier this month, Cozens said he will host Boise State head coach Chris Peterson in his home tonight and then two other BSU coaches on Thursday.

"That's it for the most part," Cozens said. "I'm done with my visits and I'll have time to just sit down with my family and make my decision.

"I wouldn't say I'm favoring one school or even a couple of schools right now. Everyone is pretty much equal.

"I don't know when I'll decide. It could be Signing Day (February 1st) or before that. I'm not really sure right now. I just need to weigh it all out and then make my decision."

We will have more in the near future on Cozens as he gets closer to making his decision.
