How strongly is Kazee committed to UW?

One commitment that surprised everyone back in June was that of Cajon (San Bermardino, Ca.) CB Damontae Kazee, a talented two-way player with enough skill to play on either side of the ball. Dawgman.com with Kazee recently and he updated us on things and what official visits he's sure to take this season...

"Things are going well right now," Kazee told Dawgman.com. "I have offers from Washington, Arizona State and San Diego State right now and I'm still committed to Washington, but I've been talking to ASU about taking a visit and I know that's a visit I'm going to take along with Washington of course."

Kazee said he's also been hearing from most of the Pac 12 including USC and UCLA.

"I just talked to USC today and UCLA called and I talked to them yesterday," Kazee noted. "I'm still committed to Washington, but I'm listening to other schools too.

"Right now I'd say I'm 90% committed to Washington and my visits will really help me decide where I will sign."

While Kazee is keeping an open mind, he has checked out every Washington game so far and said that he's been impressed with what he's seen so far.

"They're 4-1 right now and they lost to Nebraska on the road which is a tough to place to play," Kazee said. "I like the aggressiveness of their DBs. It's a hard job out there on the corner covering some of those guys, so it's been fun watching them."

Kazee said he hopes to visit Arizona State before the end of the season and will head north to see Washington after the season.

"I just want to experience it all before i really decide what I want to do," Kazee said. "Washington is still my favorite, but I feel like I need to see more schools before I can really firm things up.

"Washington will get the last shot at me though. That's something I feel like I owe them."

Kazee and his teammates are off to a 4-0 start including last week's 67-6 win over rival San Bernardino, a game in which the talented senior posted six receptions for 77 yards and a touchdown on offense and three tackles and two passes defensed from his cornerback position in just one half of play before the first team gave way to the backups.

We will continue to keep in touch with Kazee in the coming weeks and update news as it happens.
