Recruiting updates - Wiggs/Bird
"I was in Pullman a couple a weeks ago," said Wiggs. "I probably will go to WSU if they offer but if Florida State shows more interest and offers, then I will listen to what they have to say".
A couple more scholarships are on the table for Wiggs, along with other schools entering the picture of his recruitment.
"Portland State and Cal Poly have offered, and I have been hearing from about 10 more schools," he said.
The University of Washington was in the picture for a bit but seems like they backed off of Wiggs. "I haven't heard from (UW Head Coach Lorenzo) Romar in a while but I am a Cougar anyway," he said.
Jabari Bird has been tearing up the spring and beginning of summer period so far. Bird is a high-major athlete who already has a list of scholarships from elite colleges across the country. Proving why he is one of the best players in the nation, Bird has gained new offers since we last spoke.
"Things are going good," Bird told Dawgman.com. "I picked up some offers from Oregon, Louisville, and Santa Clara. UCLA and Stanford have been coming at me hard now as well."
Bird, who preps at the same school that produced current Washington Husky Desmond Simmons - Salesian High School in Richmond, Calif. - is one of the most consistent players in the class of 2013. Displaying a good work ethic is one of the tangibles Bird brings to the table, and one of the reasons he's able to consistently get the job done on both ends of the floor.
"My goal is to become the best player in my class," Bird said, matter-of-factly.
With a plate full of summer hoops ahead of him, Bird plans to visit Washington sometime in the future.
"I have a busy July and hopefully I will visit UW sometime after the summer most likely," he said.
Dawgman.com will be in Vegas July 22-25 to see first-hand action of recruits that are interested in UW. Stay tuned for a busy July.
