Waller commits to UW

Corey Waller to UW (Scout.com)

Scout.com received some good news for Washington Wednesday night when Corey Waller, a 6-foot-2.5, 210-pound OLB prospect from Long Beach (Calif.) Poly verbally committed to the Huskies over offers from USC, Colorado State, Fresno State, Hawaii, Oregon State and Washington State.

Scout.com's West Recruiting Manager - Brandon Huffman - was sound asleep Wednesday night when Waller's text came, announcing his intentions.

"Imma Dawg" was all it said. And with that, Scout.com's No. 24-rated OLB has finished off his recruitment.

Waller's only official visit was to UW, during the weekend of the Huskies' 35-34 double-overtime win against Oregon State. "The crowd was hyped, it was a great game," Waller said at the time about sitting in the stands for the game. "The players went out and played on fire and they had passion. It was a lot of fun to watch and the outcome was what I had expected."

Waller joins Poly teammate Kameron Jackson in committing to the Huskies. Jackson, a 5-foot-10, 175-pound cornerback, pledged his future to UW back in April. He's the No. 41 CB in the county, ranked by Scout.com.

We will try and catch up with Waller Thursday for thoughts on his decision.
